Stefano Maroni was born and raised in Varese, Italy where his father owned a high-end leather goods factory. Surrounded by leather experts of extraordinary skill who took great pride in their craft, Maroni set out to eventually create his own line.
Stefano Maroni’s collection reflects his personal inspirations, which include contemporary art-- he is an avid collector, sailing and global travel.
The works of undiscovered contemporary artists serve as inspiration to collections. Vibrant color, bold form, novel materials and finishing techniques enliven everything from his sandals to his flats and boots.
Trained in finance at the London School of Economics, Maroni has for years parlayed his family's expertise to design and produce footwear for many global brands, including Levi’s, Ben Sherman, Zac Posen, Tommy Bahama, Michael Bastian, Bruno Magli and Matthew Williamson.
Along with his eponymous collection, Maroni is a strong advocate for the arts and arts education. He is developing partnerships to support access to the arts for diverse audiences as well as platforms for artists. He resides in New York City with his wife and two children.
